Sure Start Health Project

Sure Start employs qualified Nursery Nurses who can offer advice on a variety of issues regarding babies and young children either in group sessions or at home. They work in the areas of North Abergavenny, Bulwark/Thornwell in Chepstow and a small area in Caldicot.
At Home - Nursery Nurses will work with parents/carers in the home, to help develop their parenting skills.  They help with issues such as healthy eating, toileting, sleep management, behaviour, breastfeeding, home safety etc. They work in conjunction with Health Visitors. 
In the Community - Nursery Nurses run groups to help support families on developing their parenting skills.  The type of groups that are run in the community are baby groups, baby massage sessions, language and play groups and parenting groups.
