The Welsh Assembly Government has recently introduced new initiatives in Wales known as “Flying Start” and “The Foundation Phase”. All Authorities in Wales are looking to increase the amount of people working with children in order to meet the requirements of the Initiatives.

If you think that you might be interested in working with children, whether it be in a Day Nursery, a School, An Out of School Club, A Playgroup or a Cylchoedd Meithrin or as a Childminder, then we hope this booklet may be of help to you.

It explains what would be involved in working in the different settings as well as the qualifications and checks needed.
